During the time the high school track is being reconstructed, the Park and Recreation Department recommends the following sites for jogging/walking:

1.    Union Pond Park located on North School Street across from Robertson Park - walkers/joggers can park in the Robertson Park parking lot, cross   the street and enter Union Pond park via the park’s main entrance and walk across the Lydall Brook bridge. Once across the bridge, they can take a right onto the stone dust path. From this point, one lap around the path is approximately 403 yards.

2.    Northwest Park, 448 Tolland Turnpike short course - start at the front of the picnic pavilion where the pavilion’s concrete floor meets the blacktop path. Head toward the little league field, take a right and proceed between the little league and baseball field until you reach the parking lot. Take a right on the paved pathway and follow until it intersects with the stone dust path outside the left field outfield fence of the baseball field. Follow the stone dust path until it intersects with the pavement at the rear of the pavilion. Vere to the right on the baseball field side of the pavilion and follow the pavement back to your starting point. Once around this course is approximately 583 yards.

3.    Northwest Park long course - start at the front of the picnic pavilion, proceed toward the little league field, bear to the left and head toward right field corner of the little league field. Follow the paved path along the right field/first base side of the little league field until you reach the parking lot. From here, follow the short course directions. Once around the long course is approximately 740 yards.

4.    Hockanum River Linear Park - six measured trails along the Hockanum River Linear Park. The trails which are marked and maintained by the Hockanum River Linear Park Committee range in length from less than one mile to over 3 ½ miles. Brochures describing each trail are available at the Town Hall Customer Service Center, Libraries, Park Department Office, and the Recreation offices.
